Meat proteins

Pork skin protein (pork collagen)

Raw material:

  • Frozen pork skin

Process description:

At the beginning of the process incoming frozen pork skin crushes by heavy duty grinder to the small particles. The particles is first mixed with conditioned hot water in a mixing tank. The washing takes place continuously and the ratio of mince to water, as well as water temperature, is automatically monitored and precisely adjusted. The washed skin is then pumped to the decanter centrifuge for separation of water and washed particles, containing mostly proteins. Wet particles conveys to the fluid bed dryer to convert to the dry pork collagen. Optionally, a second washing stage may be implemented before drying. Dry particles should be milled and packed.
Stick water after decanter can be pumps to the waste water treatment or, optionally, concentrated at vacuum evaporation system and used as feed ingredient.
